New venue, new obstacles, longer course, greater challenge
The Dorians Invade the Capital
On Saturday, 21st October 2017 we are bringing Dorians Challenge to the capital. The event will be held at Athalassa National Forest Park in Nicosia, where you can expect to be challenged by the natural terrain and a collection of new and classic Dorians Challenge obstacles.
6km, 23 Obstacles
Rally your troops and put your teamwork stills into practice! You will need to motivate each other through icy water, twisting trails and ground-breaking obstacles in the naturally beautiful setting.
RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE
The Challenge is open to anyone over the age of 16 who does not suffer from any serious health conditions. You can join the event as an individual or as a team.
The event is also available to:
• First-time Dorians
• People with moderate levels of activity or performance athletes
• Organisations that would like to develop team spirit among their staff.
VENUE & FACILITIES
Dorians Challenge will be held at Athalassa National Forest Park, a well-known and easily accessible location. The venue will have an administration area, parking and the course.
The administration area will comprise the entrance and help desks, a tickets office, the registration desk, the bag drop area, the crisis management centre, first aid and physiotherapy, exhibitors’ booths, changing facilities, showers and toilets.
The course area includes the Les Mills warm up stage, the obstacle run and the refreshment stations.
ELITE Vs OPEN WAVES
The first wave starts at 9:00 with subsequent waves every 30 minutes and the last one at 15:30
Elite Wave: This is a new option we offer to distinguish those who want to compete from those who want to complete. The first 5 men and women who will cross the finish line of the 09:00, 09:30 and 10:00 waves will qualify for the 2018 OCR European Championship. All obstacles are mandatory. Failure to conquer an obstacle is sanctioned for penalty. The Elite Waves cost €4 more than the Open Waves.
Open Waves: The 10:30 to 15:30 waves are open to all other participants. The open waves comprise the same obstacles as the elite waves but without the time pressure.
Please ensure you arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your wave start time in order to give yourself sufficient time to park, familiarise yourself with the venue, catch up with your team, register, drop off your belongings and warm up.
Free parking will be provided near the venue for participants and spectators. As thousands of Dorians are expected to attend and parking space is limited, we suggest that you arrange carpooling. Parking on the motorway is strictly prohibited. Please note that you will need to cross a busy road to get to the venue.
There will be a limited capacity bag drop station with a €2 charge per item. We therefore suggest you only bring the absolute essentials to the venue.
Bring your friends, partner, or family with you. Spectators are welcome at the designated areas at the start and finish line but will not be allowed on the course.
Event photos will be available within 5 working days after the event, free of charge. We will notify you through our Facebook page as soon as the photos are uploaded.
